Cambria® quartz is made with high-performance, stain-resistant polymers, so your new countertop will be very easy to maintain. The durable surface of Cambri® a is non-porous, so you can enjoy the beauty of natural stone without the worries. Unlike ordinary stone, Cambria® is extremely resistant to chemicals, scratches, and stains. With routine care, Cambria® will maintain its luster and beauty for many years.

Routine Care

To clean Cambria®, a damp cloth or paper towel is usually all you need. To clean up sticky spots, a little liquid detergent can help. As with any countertop, it makes sense to clean up spills as soon as you can. But rest assured Cambria® can withstand exposure to tea, soda, wine, vinegar, lemon juice, and fruits and vegetables without permanently staining like ordinary stone.

Cleaning Stubborn or Dried Spills

For stubborn or dried spills, Soft Scrub is an effective cleanser. You can use it daily without damaging Cambria®. For extremely stubborn spills, a green scrub pad such as a Scotch-Brite pad can be used without damaging your countertop. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove any hazy residue that will diminish the shine and beauty of your countertop. Note: Avoid using cleansers that contain bleach. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and exercise proper care when handling and storing any cleaning products.

Spot Removal

For spot removal (food, grease, gum, nail polish, paint, etc.), first gently scrape away the excess with a razor blade or putty knife, and then wipe off with Countertop Magic. Please note, however, that Cambria® is much harder than a steel blade, so excessive scraping on the surface may leave a gray metal mark on the countertop.

Not to worry, just clean the area with one of the recommended cleansers – Soft Scrub, Lysol, or Whirl – and a green scrub pad.

Any residue from the spot and any metal marks should both quickly disappear.
For heavier or more stubborn spots, soak a pad of paper towel in water and cleanser. Apply to the spot and let soak for two to five minutes. Scour with a green pad and cleanser. Rinse thoroughly.

Polishing

Because Cambria® is non-porous, you don’t need to worry about using sealants or waxes as you would with ordinary stone. Cambria® will keep its lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface without polishing. However, some people like to polish their Cambria® countertops every few weeks for a shine that is even more brilliant. Regular polishing cannot harm Cambria®. In fact, occasional polishing can enhance stain resistance and ease of cleaning.

For polishing, Soft Scrub and Countertop Magic provide excellent results.

No Surface is Indestructible

As with any surface, Cambria® can be damaged by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents. DO NOT use products containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or furniture strippers. Avoid abrasive cleaners containing high alkaline/pH levels higher than 8.5; liquid bluing, nail polish remover, and oil soaps can also damage your Cambria® countertop. In the event of accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, thoroughly rinse with water as soon as possible. Cambria® tolerates moderately hot temperatures (about 150 degrees Celsius) for brief periods of time without warping, discoloration or melting. An accidentally misplaced hot pot will not ruin the surface; however, it is recommended to avoid very hot pots from direct contact with the Cambria® surface by using trivets or hot pads.

Enjoy!

Cambria® is made to give the best of both worlds – all the natural wonder of stone without the worry. With Cambria® countertops, you’ll enjoy many years of natural beauty and easy care.

DuPont Corian® is a completely acrylic surface designed and created for a lifetime of easy care. Just follow a few simple guidelines listed here to help you keep your Corian surfaces looking lustrous and fresh.

Corian® Routine Care

Routine care and daily maintenance of DuPont Corian® is easy. Use the following procedures as a guide to everyday care for your Corian® surfaces.

The standard finish on Kitchen Mart’s Corian® countertops is matte. All Corian® sinks come with a matte finish. The easiest way to care for your matte finish is to use soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner. In your Corian® sink, feel free to use a light abrasive cleanser, such as Comet, Ajax, or Soft Scrub, and a blue Scotch-Brite pad. To keep a lustrous sheen to your countertops, regular use of a polisher such as Countertop Magic is recommended.

Removing Stains & Fixing Scratches & Burns

Corian® is non-porous, and so stains do not penetrate the surface. Minor blemishes such as scratches, general or chemical stains, can be maintained on-site with a light abrasive cleanser and a blue Scotch-Brite pad, available at most hardware and grocery stores.

Avoid using the green Scotch-Brite pads, as they are much more abrasive. Use a little water, mild abrasive like Soft Scrub, and the Scotch-Brite pad in a circular motion, with light pressure. Rinse with water and dry with a towel. Then it is recommended that you apply Countertop Magic to restore the shine.

Brightening Your Sink

If you are noticing that your Corian® sink is not as white as it once was, you can easily fix this with simple household bleach. It is recommended that you mix ½ cup of bleach with warm water to each sink bowl and let the solution sit for a minimum half an hour. After this, simply drain the solution, and your sink will be restored to its original color.

Preventing Heat & Other Damage

Although Corian® is heat-resistant, you should always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet to protect it. Hot pans, as well as some heat-generating appliances like frying pans or electric skillets, can damage the surface if a hot pad or trivet is not used.

Corian® can be easily repaired if it is damaged. However, be sure to follow these guidelines to prevent any permanent damage to your Corian®:

Avoid exposing Corian® to strong chemicals, such as paint removers, oven cleaners, nail polish remover, etc. If contact occurs, flush with water.

Do not cut directly on your Corian®; always use a cutting board of some type. Cutting on your countertop will dull your knives and put light scratches in the surface.

Corian® Warranty

Please refer to your Corian® warranty card for information on your DuPont 10-Year Warranty or click here: Corian Warranty

If you have searched long and hard for a durable and tough material that is superior in quality, we would like to congratulate you on choosing LG Hi-Macs®. The material is hard-wearing and extremely repellent to stains, and is therefore very easy to look after. We would like to provide you with a few simple tips and hints on caring for your product so that you can enjoy its exceptional quality for many years to come.

General Day-To-Day-Stains

Hi-Macs® is a completely homogenous material. As it does not have any pores, you can simply and easily clean it with a damp cloth or sponge and a mild detergent. You can also use a domestic scouring agent on all matte finishes. It is also useful to wipe your surface occasionally with a scouring agent or wet sponge to retain the even finish of your product. After this, it is recommended to polish your countertop with a product such as Countertop Magic, which can be found at most hardware stores, to retain the countertop’s luster.

Tougher Stains

Tougher stains, caused by food coloring, tea, or fruit juice can easily be removed using a bleaching agent. DO NOT leave this agent in contact with the work surface for more than five minutes. Clean the surface with a domestic, all-purpose cleaner and rinse with clean water afterward. You can also use a scouring agent on matte finishes. Nail polish can easily be removed with acetone-free nail polish remover, or a scouring agent.

Brightening Your Sink

If you are noticing that your Hi-Macs® sink is not as white as it once was, you can

easily fix this with simple household bleach. It is recommended that you mix ½ cup of bleach with warm water to each sink bowl and let the solution sit for a minimum half an hour. After this, simply drain the solution, and your sink will be restored to its original color.

Hot Objects & Burn Marks

Hot saucepans or pots straight out of the oven or from the hob should not be laid directly on the Hi-Macs® surface. Place a mat or board underneath these to prevent any damage to your product. If you pour boiling liquids into Hi-Macs® sinks or basins, you should also pour in cold water at the same time.

Small burn marks can simply be removed using a scouring agent or an abrasive sponge.

Sharp Objects

Hi-Macs® copes effortlessly with eh wear and tear of everyday lie, however pointed or sharp-edged objects can leave cuts or scratches on the Hi-Macs® surface. You can repair smaller cuts and scratches without too much trouble, but we recommend the services of a professional for especially deep cuts.

Enjoy!

LG Hi-Macs® is solid surface at its best. With the right care, Hi-Macs® will still look astonishingly new after years.

Origin of Natural Stone

Originally, your natural stone comes from a mountainside cut into huge 50,000-pound blocks of stone. The blocks are then sliced into slabs, which are refined to give its natural colors a mirror like depth. The luster, hardness, colors and variations are all indications of the stone’s mineral composition and origin. This unique blend of characteristics is what makes your natural stone one-of-a-kind, and a beautiful practical surface for your home.

Stone is Absorbent

Although we usually think of stone as “hard,” it is actually a porous material. Natural stone has varying degrees on porosity depending of the type of stone. If left unsealed, spills and everyday messes can easily penetrate the surface and stain the countertop. The liquid eventually evaporates but the stain will be visible. Highly acidic substances, such as orange juice, coffee, and wine, will also etch acid sensitive stones including most granite, slate, and sandstone.

Stone Needs Specialty Cleaners

Like any other surface in your home, it is important to clean your natural stone to help maintain its natural beauty. However, natural stone requires cleaning products specifically designed for the stone’s unique mineral composition. Most general-purpose cleaners, as well as any products containing lemon, vinegar, or other acids, and abrasive powders will etch or damage the stone and/or degrade the sealer, and therefore removing protective properties and the stone will be more easily susceptible to stains. Because of this, Kitchen Mart recommends the use of products such as Revitalizer and Klenzall for cleaning your countertop.

Proper Cleaning

Maintenance cleaning with pH-balanced, neutral cleaner, such as a mixture of mild soap and water, will help remove spills or stains that normal dusting or damp mopping leave behind. It also helps to keep your stone free of dust and dry, sandy soil to minimize wear patterns from everyday use on some softer stones. Specially designed cleaners, such as Klenzall or Revitalizer, for stone will never break down the protective sealer. In fact, some cleaners contain protective properties, which reinforce the sealer to prolong stain resistance. For heavier cleaning jobs, using cleaners formulated for stone will effectively remove tough grime and messes yet be gentle on the surface. For optimum protection, we recommend you seal your surface every year with a Heavy Duty Stone Sealer. Quality sealers like 511 Impregnator and Porous Plus are recommended.

How to Seal Your Countertop

Clean your countertop prior to sealing it. After cleaning, start at one end of your countertop and seal in sections of roughly three feet at a time. After pouring on the sealer. The sealer should penetrate the countertop, but may puddle in areas that are less porous. Make sure to wipe off anything that puddles—this is called ‘buffing.’ Let the sealer set for 30 minutes, and then wipe off any excess.

Dos And Dont’s of Natural Stone

DO clean surfaces with a mild detergent or soap. DO thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing. DO blot up spills immediately. DON’T rub spills with a cloth or paper towel, as this will spread them. DON’T use vinegar, lemon juice, or other cleaners containing acids. DON’T use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleansers. DON’T mix bleach and ammonia; this combination creates a toxic and lethal gas.

Cultured marble, cultured onyx, and cast granite are durable cousins that lend themselves naturally to a bathroom environment. These cast polymer products offer clean lines, harmonious styling and a nonporous surface that resists mildew and staining, and wipes clean with minimal effort. It is versatile enough to complement an ever widening range of architectural and decorating styles, from traditional designs to the most contemporary. All three materials are available in an ever-changing palette of colors.

Routine Care

To maintain the shine and to protect your cultured marble product, only use liquid cleaners such as Scrubbing Bubbles, Lysol Basin Tub & Tile Cleaner, or Scrub-Free Soap Scum Remover.

It is not recommended that you use any abrasive cleansers like Soft Scrub, powdered Comet, or Ajax. They may damage the high gloss surface.

All cleaners have a toll-free phone number on them that you can call if you have any questions.

Protecting Your Product

The water in the Sacramento area and surrounding communities is known for its harshness and deposits. Kitchen Mart suggest that at least once a month you use a product called Gel Gloss, which can be purchased at most hardware stores and plumbing centers.

This cleaner/polish leaves a wax finish which helps repel the water off walls and in bowls. A clear or white automotive wax can also be used to wax the surface.

If hard water and soap build up, you can use the blue Scotch-Brite Multi-Purpose. Do not use the green one, as it is abrasive!

DO NOT use Scratch Scour Pads found at grocery storess

Any type of sponge or pad you can use on Teflon, etc., can also be used.

When cleaning shower or tub walls, be careful not to scrub or agitate the silicone seams. They should simply be sprayed and wiped or rinsed off.

To clean the textured floor of shower pans, a soft bristled nylon brush can be used.

Enjoy!

With proper care and maintenance you can enjoy your Cultured Marble Product for years to come!

Wood Cabinet Surfaces
As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. KraftMaid cabinetry is designed for use inside the home or other buildings and is not intended for outdoor applications. Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all exteriors with a damp cloth to remove dust. Complete a small area at a time and wipe dry. Wood cabinetry finishes may be cleaned and protected by using any commercially available cleaning polish. KraftMaid recommends an emulsion-type cleaner (such as Murphy’s Oil Soap). These are formulated without wax, petroleum solvents or silicones. The extended use of wax polishes can result in a wax film buildup, while the use of silicone polishes can harm the cabinet’s finish.

Cleaning Agents
Avoid spray-type polishes containing petroleum solvents, as they are flammable and toxic if swallowed. KraftMaid brand polish is available from your local KraftMaid dealer. Use a damp cloth when cleaning normal household spills. After wiping thoroughly, dry the surface with a lint-free cotton cloth. For stubborn stains, it may be necessary to use a mild detergent with warm water. Always dry the surface immediately.
Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers. Do not allow oven cleaner to touch any part of the cabinet.

NOTE: Do not use a dish cloth to wipe your cabinet exterior, since it may contain remnants of grease or detergents.

Everyday Care
It is important to wipe up spills and water marks as they occur. Give special attention to areas around the sink and dishwasher. Avoid draping damp or wet dish towels over the door of the sink base cabinet. Over time, this moisture can cause permanent water damage to the door. A convenient, out-of-the-way sliding towel rack can be purchased from your local KraftMaid dealer.

Care and Cleaning of Hardware
Periodically, use mild soap and warm water to clean door/drawer knobs or pulls. Thoroughly dry all hardware joints and surfaces and the surrounding area with a clean, soft cloth. Buff hardware with a clean, dry cloth. Lubrication of hinges is not necessary; however, hinges can be cleaned or dusted using cotton-tipped swabs.

CAUTION: Many brass and silver polishes contain harsh chemicals that can damage the hardware’s surface. These polishes and cleaners are NOT recommended.

Melamine and Thermofoil Surfaces
KraftMaid’s exterior and interior melamine and thermofoil panels are extremely durable and designed to give you years of beauty and trouble-free service. They can be cleaned with most nonabrasive household cleaners. However, agents containing acetone, acetate or ethyl alcohol should not be used. Harsh solvents and/or abrasives such as turpentine may break down bonds on edgebanding and should also be avoided. Ammonia cleaners should be diluted. Certain waxes may lead to discoloration and are not recommended.

If a damp cloth does not sufficiently clean an area, a non-detergent, nonabrasive household cleaner (such as Murphy’s Oil Soap) is recommended. For stubborn stains, use mineral spirits (such as Nature Sol).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Apply solvents to a clean cloth and never directly to the cabinet surface. Never leave a cloth moistened with solvents on a cabinet surface for any length of time.

Avoid Excessive Heat
Self-cleaning appliances generate intense heat during a cleaning cycle. Since the integrity of the appliance seal or gasket may be compromised during installation or with age, KraftMaid recommends the removal of doors and/or drawers from cabinets adjacent to or directly above an appliance during a cleaning cycle. This will help prevent possible damage to the finish or surface of these cabinets. KraftMaid also offers a “heat shield” that may be installed on the side panels of an oven cabinet to help deflect excessive heat from adjacent cabinets. To order this part, see your local authorized KraftMaid dealer.

Care and Cleaning of Glass Door Inserts
If your kitchen contains cabinetry accented with glass doors, a few precautions are necessary. Apply glass cleaner to a towel, not directly to the glass. Avoid cleaner contact with lead, white-, gold- or copper-clad mullions.

Camed glass inserts may be gently buffed with 0000 steel wool, as this will not scratch glass. Avoid steel wool buffing of joints on gold-, copper- or white-clad mullions, as this will remove the coating. A gold touch-up pen is available from your authorized KraftMaid dealer. White mullions can be protected by coating with carnauba wax, available at local hardware or automotive stores.

CAUTION: Cloths used to clean camed glass inserts should be laundered separately. Do not mix with clothing.

Care and Cleaning of Mirrors
Cleaner should always be applied to a cloth, not directly to the mirror, and should not be allowed to run or drip into the base trim. Avoid cleaners that contain sodium hydrochloride, phosphoric acid or sulfur (found in products to prevent mildew and fungus). Hair spray and other hair care products often contain chemicals that are caustic to silver and may cause damage to the mirror back. Do not use abrasives.
